Description
The Horde Wants You Dead is a casual, top-down shooter with up to 4-player online co-op. Ambushed by an angry horde, you and your friends face a fight for survival against thousands of relentless enemies!
The game sees players take on the horde in 20 minute runs where they face an overwhelming number of enemies that grow stronger and faster every minute. Killed enemies drop coins that players collect to earn supply crates, which offer them a variety of upgrades to strengthen their character and weapon. The game is designed to be challenging, with 5 levels of increasing difficulty to fight through.
The Horde Wants You Dead takes inspiration from horde survival games such as Brotato or Vampire Survivors but takes its own approach to gameplay, leaning into a more arcade twin-stick shooter style.
Players can join forces with up to 3 friends and work as a team to defeat the horde. Playing as a squad introduces its own set of challenges, such as limited amount of medpacks and friendly fire grenades.
The game features blood, gore and ragdolls as the horde are ripped apart by powerful weapons and grenades. With permanent blood splatter and scorch marks, the arena quickly becomes a bloody and scarred battlefield.
History
The Horde Wants You Dead evolved from an idea that spawned during a game jam. After prototyping it as an abstract stickman-like game with firearms, it evolved into a more arcade style horde shooter. Multiplayer was at the core of the experience we wanted to develop, with the goal of providing a challenging, but satisfying, game that can be shared with friends.
